1. Case Introduction

One winter, a user reported an incident where a curtain became trapped in the track of an electric window opener during closing. The motor did not stop in time, resulting in minor damage. Although the loss was small, it raised an important concern: if it had been a child’s hand, the outcome could have been serious.

As automatic window openers become more widely used in homes, greenhouses, and commercial buildings, closing safety has become a critical design priority.

 

2. Importance of Anti-Pinch Design

Automatic window openers generate significant closing force, especially on large or heavy windows. When obstacles such as hands, pets, or objects are encountered, the system must respond immediately.

However, safety design faces a balance problem:

High sensitivity may cause false stops due to wind or dust

Low sensitivity may fail to prevent injury

Since window size and load vary widely, fixed parameters cannot meet all conditions. Therefore, anti-pinch systems must be adjustable and adaptive.

 

3. Our Anti-Pinch Design Approach

Adjustable Obstruction Sensitivity

AW-07 Window Opener: Adjustable resistance threshold based on window load

AW-08 Electric Window Opener: 0–10 level sensitivity adjustment via remote control

PKC-C01C & KCQ-B03: Flexible obstacle-stop settings for different window weights

This ensures stable performance across lightweight and heavy-duty applications.

 

Smart Motion Control (KCQ-B03)

KCQ-B03 window opener offers adjustable speed and timing control, enabling a “fast start, smooth stop” operation. It supports windows up to 200 kg with a 12V DC low-voltage system for safe operation.

 

Multi-Protection System

Additional safety mechanisms include:

Motor overload protection with automatic shutdown

Magnetic limit positioning (AW-07)

Built-in obstacle stop and soft start/stop (PKC-C01C)

These features work together to ensure reliable protection from detection to execution.
